The Exhibition of "ZASSO(weed)"
The photographs which have been taken and accumlated by Yuji Tokuda. Weed shows strong life forces and various aspects. When I heard that Aoyama(the town of Minato-ku, Tokyo) tries to go ahead with urban afforestation and I conceived the plan to unite the town by these pictures, the project started. 24 shops of the traditional Japanese-style confection store, the modern tailor, the headquarters of the art of flower arrangement and so on joined this project. The photographs were displayed quietly like weed in each shop windows on the street, and the street became the one gallery. The red water pots placed near artworks show the image of lantems of the festival.
This easy-missed and obscure exhibition is the message for today's busy people. The wish to put the photographs down if I gave a photo exhibition also became a reality.
